From 2001 to 2003 I produced Layman’s Guide to World War III, a monthly column in Hybrid Magazine.
Since that time I’ve gone on to other things. I am presently the managing editor of NewWitch magazine and the author of The Haitian Vodou Handbook and the forthcoming Vodou Love Magic. But I have never lost my interest in world affairs, nor my desire to talk about them to anyone who will listen.
Hence this new blog, wherein I discuss the historical, political and sociological pressures which underlie so many of today’s current events. Mircea Eliade spoke of an “eternal return:” when you study the regions where many of these conflicts take place, you can see the old fascist had a point. Knowing where we have been is an excellent way to predict where we are going. And we start this new journey with a look at one of the world’s most beautiful – and turbulent – regions: the Caucasus Mountains.
